Open Postdoc Position in Berlin

The Combinatorial Optimization and Graph Algorithms Group at TU Berlin
( http://www.math.tu-berlin.de/coga/ ) invites applications for a research
position in the project "Optical Access Networks" within the
DFG-Research Center MATHEON "Mathematics for key technologies"
( http://www.matheon.de/ ), starting June 1st, 2010 or later.

We are looking for a postdoc who is experienced in the area of
discrete optimization, in particular in combinatorial optimization,
integer programming, and their applications. The successful candidate
will participate in the development and the implementation of mathematical
models and algorithms to solve large-scale optimization problems arising
in the planning of optical telecommunication networks. Working towards
theoretical as well as practical results is both intended. He or she will
collaborate with 10+ researchers in our group, interested in areas such as
combinatorial optimization, integer programming, network flows, scheduling,
online and robust optimization, graph theory, and their application to and
implementation in practice.

Candidates must have a recent PhD degree in mathematics or
computer science and very good knowledge in discrete optimization.
There is no teaching obligation.

Payment will be at the Berlin BAT IIa level.

Please address your application (including appropriate documentation etc.)
to the

President of TU Berlin
