The 8th International Conference on Numerical Optimization and Numerical Linear Algebra  
          (Xiamen, Fujian Province, China, November 7-11, 2011) 
  
    The International Conference on Numerical Optimization and Numerical Linear Algebra will be held  
in the city of Xiamen, Fujian Province, China, November 7-11, 2011. This is the 8th of the binnial  
conference series, with previous ones being held in Qingdao(1997), Nanjing(1999), Dunhuang(2001),  
Guilin(2003), Lhasa(2005), Urumuqi(2007), and Lijiang(2009). The Conference will be organized  
by the State Key Laboratory of Scientific and Engineering Computing, Institute of Computational  
Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science,  
Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly with Xiamen University. The sponsors of the conference  
include the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Chinese Mathematical Society.  
Invited lectures on recent advances of numerical optimization, numerical linear algebra, and
