The Research Unit Operations Research and Control Systems (ORCOS),
Institute for Mathematical Methods in Economics (IWM)

is looking for candidates for one or two PhD or postdoctoral positions
which will be funded by a project entitled
"Regularity, stability, and computation of equilibria."

The PhD candidates must have a master degree in mathematics (preferably
in mathematical analysis, optimization, numerical mathematics,
differential equations) and those for postdoc position should have PhD
in mathematics or mathematical sciences.

The work will include analysis and development of numerical methods for
variational inequalities, with emphasis on problems that arise in
optimal control and differential games, and in mathematical economics,
in particular. Knowledge of variational analysis and optimization will
be needed at certain point as well as some experience in computer
implementation of algorithms.

Remuneration is based on the salary scale of the Austrian Science Fund
(FWF; see http://www.fwf.ac.at/de/projects/personalkostensaetze.html).
