Salary: AUD$89,955 - AUD$106,817 (Level B) or AUD$110,190 - AD$127,054 (Level C), plus 9.5% superannuation. Level of appointment is subject to qualifications and experience.

We are seeking a dedicated researcher to join one of Australia's leading engineering schools, working with a multidisciplinary team in the Department of Infrastructure Engineering. This is a 3-year ARC project that aims to develop a stochastic optimisation decision support tool to assist environmental water managers to decide when and how to use their water entitlements to achieve the best environmental outcomes.

Your primary responsibility will be the development, implementation, testing and deployment of an optimisation model to assist in making environmental watering decisions. You will also be responsible for the design and development of software prototypes to allow early engagement with the relevant partner organisations (end users), including user interfaces and data interchange functions. You will be expected to work closely with collaborators across the University and externally.

You will be expected to play a leading role in writing up the results of the study into journal and conference papers, and to communicate the results through conferences, industry seminars and other knowledge exchange events. You will also contribute to the Department through occasional teaching and supervision of graduate research students as required. Appointment will be made at Level B or C, dependent on skills and experience.
Employment Type: Full-time (fixed-term) position available for 12 months
