[Opt-Net] Open position as PhD candidate at the University of Bergen (Norway)

[Opt-Net]

At the University of Bergen (Norway), Department of Informatics a 4-year 
position as

Research fellow (PhD candidate) in optimization

is available. This position is connected to the Optimization Group. The 
goal of this project is to establish new results on the theory, 
applications and numerical solution methods for nonlinear optimization 
problems. Furthermore, the modeling of real-life problems arising in 
fishery and maritime research by using mathematical optimization tools 
will play a role. The successful candidate will be expected to be able 
to cooperate in an interdisciplinary setting and to work in different 
research areas of mathematical optimization.

Applicants must have achieved a master degree or equivalent in 
mathematics or informatics, or have submitted their master thesis for 
assessment by the application deadline. Furthermore, applicants should 
have strong competence in mathematical optimization as well as efficient 
implementation. An adequate command of English is expected.
