The Institute of Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and
Computer Science at Heidelberg University has an open position for a

Research Assistant in Combinatorial Optimization

(full time, salary scale TV-L E13, 3 years from May 1, 2015 or later).
This is a time limited position according to the German Law (WissZeitVG).

Job description
Participation in research and teaching (in German) entailing basic courses
in Computer Science and advanced courses in Discrete and
Combinatorial Optimization. The position includes a teaching obligation
of 4 hours per week during the teaching period.
In principle, it is possible to work towards a PhD.

Requirements
• University degree (diploma/master) in Computer Science or Mathematics
• Strong background in discrete and combinatorial mathematical optimization
• Very good programming skills (e.g., C, C++)
• Good knowledge of optimization tools (e.g., Cplex, Gurobi)
• Commitment and ability to work in a team
• Good English language skills.
