Project-Assistant at the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical
Methods in Economics
The Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics,
Vienna University of Technology, has the pleasure to invite applications
for a research assistant position, 40 hours/week full-time starting with
Sept. 1, 2015.
The contract is limited for a period of one year (till August 31, 2016).
The place of employment is TU Wien, Wiedner Hauptstr. 8-10, 1040 Wien,
Austria. The payment will be according to the Austrian collective
agreement for employees of universities, € 3.540,00 pre-tax (gross), 14
times a year.
Job Description
• The main preoccupation is the research in the framework of the
research project “Business Models including Batteries for Smart Grids”
• Survey of mathematical smart grid modelling
• Adapting and refining mathematical smart grid models
• Extending of mathematical smart grid modelling to the usage of
storing (batteries)
• Collaborating with computer scientists to implement smart grid
models (coding smart grid protocols is carried out by the computer
scientists)
• Supporting simulations, case studies, calibrating and validating
mathematical smart grid models.
Requirements
• Completed Ph.D. degree relevant (like mathematics) to the Job
Description
• PhD thesis or working experience in the field of optimization and
game theory will be highly appreciated
• Interest in mathematical modelling of smart grid applications
• Good knowledge of English
