Assistant Professor Position, Mathematical Sciences, RPI
Applications are invited for a tenure-track position as an Assistant
Professor in applied mathematics to begin in August 2017. Candidates
must have a Ph.D., or foreign degree equivalent, in mathematics or
applied mathematics, or a closely related discipline, along with the
ability to demonstrate, through their records of accomplishments,
promise of future distinction in scholarship and education. The
successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the department
at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to develop and maintain a
robust program of externally funded research, and to provide academic
and administrative service to the department and the institute. Please

We welcome candidates with a commitment to applied mathematics and
interdisciplinary research. Of particular interest are candidates whose
work involves one or more of the following areas: modeling and
simulation of complex systems, stochastic modeling and statistical
inference, inverse problems, mathematical biology, and mathematical
approaches to extracting information from large data sets (optimization,
data mining, machine learning, imaging, bioinformatics, geoinformatics,
etc.)
