SIEMENS CORPORATE TECHNOLOGY (Munich, Germany) is looking for a Research Scientist (m/f) - Discrete Optimization  
 
With its 7,000 employees, Siemens Corporate Technology (CT) works hand in hand with the company's business units to ensure Siemens' future. CT conducts research with internal and external partners, including leading universities and promising start-ups. These collaborative endeavors focus on a wide range of future technologies with a view to securing them with patents and supporting them through commercialization. CT also provides development services for Siemens' business units and supports them with methods and tools related to business excellence.

Your new role - challenging and future-oriented
* Development of optimization solutions for our internal customers
* Analysis and mathematical modeling of real life optimization problems like production planning, control and layout planning in the business units
* Implementation of software tools (from prototype to deployment in customer IT environment)
* Intensive collaboration with our customers (joint specification,  joint development, deployment, training, support)
* Support of acquisition of research and development projects at the business units.
* Initiation, participation in and co-management of research projects funded by relevant national and international funding bodies
* Monitoring of technological development in the field of Discrete Optimization

Your qualifications - solid and appropriate
* Successfully completed university degree in computer science or mathematic, PhD is advantageous
* Extensive experience with project work in the research and development area
* Extensive expertise in the development and realization of optimization solutions
* Strong programming skills especially C#, C++ or Java
* Special IT skills (databases, web interface, GUI) advantageous
* Strong presentation and communication skills,
* Very good English and German (desired) skills in speaking and writing
