The Research Unit Applied Statistics (ASTAT) of the Institute of
Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, TU Wien, invites
applications for a Postdoctoral Assistant and a Predoctoral Research
Assistant position to start in January 2018.
Responsibilities: The successful candidates are expected to conduct
research for the research project "Sufficient Dimension Reduction
Methodology in Econometric Modeling and Forecasting," funded by the
Austrian Science Fund (FWF). The research is expected to lead to
publications and a PhD dissertation for the student.
Research Assistant / PhD Student: The contract is for a 30h/week
employment as a PhD candidate for a period of 3 years. The monthly
minimum salary is currently (in accordance with FWF) EUR 2.071,00 gross
(14x per year).
The successful candidate will have a completed master degree or
equivalent (e.g., Dipl.-Ing., Dipl.-Inf.), preferably with distinction,
in the following fields: Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or
Computer Science, or equivalent university studies at home or abroad.
Post-doctoral Assistant: The contract is for a 40h/week employment for a
period of 2 years. The successful candidate will hold a PhD and have an
excellent research profile in Statistics, or a closely related field.
The monthly minimum salary is currently (in accordance with FWF) EUR
3.626,60 gross (14x per year). Prior experience may result in higher salary.
Other skills: Knowledge of English is necessary.
