Applications are invited for PhD studentships within the Scientific
Computation Group at the School of Mathematical Sciences, University
of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

We are seeking candidates with a 1st class degree in Mathematics or
affine, preferably at MMath/MSc level, with a background/interest in Scientific
Computation, Computational Optimisation and/or Control Theory, to
develop research projects in the following areas: Computational
Optimal Transport, Computational Optimisation & Control of Agent based
Dynamics Across Scales, and Model/Data-driven Methods for Large Scale
Nonlinear Control Problems. For a detailed description of the research

Studentships are available for UK and EU applicants, covering tuition
feeds and a full stipend provided at the RCUK rate (15,009 GBP per
annum for 2019/20). There will also be funds available to support
conference attendance and collaboration with research groups
