Dear Colleagues,

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics is proud to introduce
the First Conference on Mathematics of Data Science that will take place
on May 5-7, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and it will be co-located with the
SIAM Conference on Data Mining.

This conference will provide a forum to present work that advances
mathematical, statistical, and computational methods in the context of
data and information sciences and aims to unite researchers who are
building foundations for data science and making principled applications
to science, engineering, technology, and society.

We invite contributed talks, minisymposia proposals that can highlight
the role of mathematics in the growing field of data science.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  * Foundational Algorithms
  * Statistical Inference
  * Optimization and Control
  * Machine Learning
      o Adversarial Machine Learning
      o Scientific Machine Learning
  * Theoretical Computer Science
  * Fairness and Bias in data science
  * Signal Processing and Information Theory
  * Applied Probability
  * Functional Analysis
  * Network Science
  * Approximation Theory
  * Topological Data Analysis
  * Applications of data science in astrophysics, chemistry, earth
    science, materials science, biology, neuroscience, economics,
    engineering, banking, finance, security, privacy, and social sciences

SIAM MDS20 will take place on May 5-7, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

SIAM requests that individuals limit themselves to giving one talk. A
poster may be presented in addition to a talk, provided the poster
presents that material that is not already covered. The co-chairs will
consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis when exceptional
circumstances exist
