A postdoc/senior researcher position is available in the group of 
Professor Nicole Megow at the University of Bremen in the Faculty of 
Mathematics and Computer Science (http://www.uni-bremen.de/en/cslog). 
The group's research focus is on combinatorial optimization, 
approximation algorithms, optimization under uncertainty such as online, 
stochastic and robust optimization as well as learning-augmented methods.

The ideal candidate holds an excellent PhD degree in mathematics, 
theoretical computer science or a related area, and should have a strong 
publication record in the areas of discrete optimization and algorithm 
theory. A background in some of the other above-mentioned topics is 
desirable. In addition, the successful candidate is highly 
self-motivated, passionate about her/his work, and has a good ability to 
work both independently as well as in a team. Good communication skills 
and solid English skills, both oral and in writing, are expected. 
Teaching experience is an advantage.

The position is a full-time position for 3 years, with the possibility 
of extension, paid according to the Federal German Payment scale TV-L 
13. The actual salary depends on academic experience, family situation, 
tax classification, etc. and amounts to an annual net salary of at least 
30,000 Euro.

The successful applicant is expected to conduct independent research on 
topics relevant to the above-mentioned areas, to cooperate with the 
group as well as external collaborators and to attract and supervise 
graduate students. The position comes with teaching duties.
