WIAS invites applications for a Research Assistant Position (f/m/d) (Ref.
23/18) in the Research Group “Partial Differential Equations“, (Head: Prof.
Dr. A. Mielke) starting as soon as possible.

We are looking for: Applicants with a Ph.D. degree in mathematics (or
related fields). The Ph.D. should be completed or very close to completion.
The successful candidate will have an interest in applied mathematics,
especially applied analysis, and a strong background in at least two of the
following areas:

   - analysis of nonlinear partial differential equations,
   - calculus of variations,
   - functional analysis and operator theory,
   - mathematical modeling in the sciences.
   - Interdisciplinary interaction with researchers in the natural sciences
   and engineering is expected, as well as cooperation in the acquisition of
   external funding.
