Offer description
As part of its growth strategy, the Informations Systems, Data Analytics
and Operations (IDO) Department at ESSEC Business School invites
applications for an Associate Professor faculty position in Operations
Research. The position is based at the ESSEC Cergy Pontoise campus (Greater
Paris area) and has a starting date of September 2027.
The Department places a strong emphasis on high quality, high impact
research and excellence in teaching. Its faculty members publish in top
tier journals, including Operations Research, Mathematical Programming,
EJOR, and PhD students are placed at top research institutions.
Skills/Requirements

The recruitment is at the Associate Professor level

Researcher profile: R3 Established Researcher

All candidates should have a strong and recognized publication record in
top tier Operations Research journals and are expected to continue to
publish in these journals

Candidates are expected to play a leadership role in research and
teaching development
-
Candidates should have an interest in developing decision models and
optimization methods, and in bridging the gap between discrete
optimization, mathematical programming and neighboring disciplines and
applications such as machine learning, supply chain management, operations,
decision under uncertainty. Connections with companies and organizations
will be appreciated. Ideal profiles combine innovation spirit, technical
depth, and a strong interest in linking theory and practice through
applications.

In addition to research and teaching excellence, a successful record in
supervising and placing PhD students and a history of conducting research
with junior faculty are highly desirable
