</span></b><span lang="EN-US">Innovation and short product design cycles have increasingly become important to industries due to globalization. Multiobjective optimization can be used as a tool for product innovation by finding better product designs quickly.
However, multiobjective optimization problems in industry are often complex involving a large number of objectives and are computationally expensive. In addition, supporting a human decision maker and involving her/him during optimization are rarely considered
in complex multiobjective optimization problems. In this research, ways are to be proposed to handle above-mentioned complex multiobjective optimization problems using computational intelligence techniques and an intelligent decision support prototype tool.
The output of this research is set to alleviate the hindrance in using multiobjective optimization in industry, thereby significantly enhancing innovation and competitiveness of the Finnish industries.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
