<span lang="EN-US">Modern commodity computers are inherently heterogeneous. They contain a multi-core processor and accelerators like the graphics card or the Xeon Phi. Accelerators can nowadays easily be used for general purpose programming, and thus they
have the potential to speed up discrete optimization methods.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align:justify">

<span lang="EN-US">The goal of this workshop is to discuss recent research on optimization methods that utilize accelerators, and to create ideas for future research. An example would be adapting a well-known, successful algorithm to the GPU or the Xeon Phi.
Of particular interest is the combined usage of the multi-core CPU and one or more accelerators to fully utilize the computational power available in modern PCs.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
