[Scip] error extracting scip-3.2.0.tgz

I’ve just using the built-in archive tool, and it gives me an error as well: http://i.imgur.com/3RcwFFw.png. I just scped the file to another Linux machine I have (running CentOS 6.6), and it extracted without error. This must be some oddity with the tar utility that comes with OS X. Does anyone else have an OS X machine that they can use to see if they get the same error? This is the first time I’ve ever had an issue extracting a tgz.

Dear Geoffrey,

our SHA-1 hash is the same. Have you tried some other tool to extract the files? The archive seems to be fine and we did not receive any similar issues by other users. This is strange.

all the best

I’m on OS X 10.10.4. tar --version gives me bsdtar 2.8.3 - libarchive 2.8.3. I’ve tried downloading with two browsers (Firefox and Safari) just to make sure it’s not a download error of some sort, and both browsers give me the same file. What’s your SHA-1 hash of scip-3.2.0.tgz? Mine is e085a4a3591eddf945dcb365d97d2512c267e374.

Hi,

a few seconds ago I used the same command and everything worked fine (with tar version 1.27.1). Which tar version and which operating system do you use?

Best regards,

Benny

I’m getting an error when I try to extract scip-3.2.0.tgz (both the standalone file and the one bundled in scipoptsuite-3.2.0.tgz). I’m attaching the output of tar -xvf scip-3.2.0.tgz to this email. The error I’m getting is this: tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors. I don’t see any other errors in the output. For what it’s worth, the older scip-3.1.1.tgz extracts without any error. I’m wondering if there’s just an error in the SCIP 3.2.0 package on the website.
