Hello,

I'm one of the developers of JuMP, an algebraic modeling in Julia. As part
of the Google Summer of Code 2016 under the umbrella of the NumFocus
organization, we are looking for a student interested in working on a
Julia-SCIP interface. This interface will enable users of Julia to have
first-class access to SCIP.

One of JuMP's unique features is efficient support for callbacks, which
lets users implement branch-and-cut, lazy constraints, and heuristic
callbacks all from a high-level language. We currently have support for
Gurobi, CPLEX, and GLPK and would love to add SCIP to the list!

Students do not need previous experience with Julia, but should be
comfortable with C and ideally the SCIP C API. Students will have the
opportunity to work closely with the JuMP developers and the SCIP team.
This is a paid position with periodic evaluations, see the Google Summer of
Code webpage for complete details.

For more details on the project, see the proposal here:
https://github.com/numfocus/gsoc/blob/master/2016/ideas-list-juliaopt.md#develop-a-julia-interface-to-the-scip-solver

Please get in touch if you are interested!

Best regards,
Miles Lubin
