[SCIP] Clarification on SCIP Licensing Terms for Commercial Use

Dear SCIP Team,

 

My name is Changxin Liu, and I am a long-term user of SCIP for both research
and software development. First, I would like to express my sincere
gratitude for providing this excellent solver to the community.

 

I am writing to seek clarification regarding the licensing terms for SCIP
Version 8.0.3 and subsequent releases. While I understand that these
versions are licensed under the Apache 2.0 License, I would like to confirm
a few details, as they are critical for our planned commercial software
development that will incorporate SCIP.

1.    Is there a commercial version of SCIP available?

2.    Do we need to request permission or enter into a separate contract
with SCIP to incorporate it into our planned commercial software?

 

I look forward to your response and appreciate your time and attention to
this matter.
