*PMO109 – Global Optimization *-- Final Call for participation

Global and nonlinear optimization problems are often observed to occur
in practice, e,g., in energy, trading, finance and chemical processing.
In the past, such types of problems were linearized, yet with raising
computing power and better algorithms, we see global optimization
solvers becoming state-of-the-art offering, while at the same time
hybrid approaches with local optimization frameworks show their merits
for finding good solutions.
In our upcoming meeting we want to discuss topics around nonlinear and
global optimization, the various application areas and practical
approaches as well as theoretical ideas.
