Welcome to the IFAC Workshop on Control Applications of Optimization

to be organized at the Department of Mathematical Information Technology,
University of Jyvaskyla, Finland

on May 6-8, 2009

The purpose of the Workshop is to present and share ideas on new
developments on optimisation and control. Both theoretical research and
practical applications are covered, some of the main topics including
numerical optimisation techniques, applications in control problems,
advances in optimal control, multiobjective optimisation, robust and
adaptive control, differential games etc. Sharing ideas between researchers
from universities and industry in both theoretical research and applications
in this area is especially encouraged to show where the optimisation in
today's technological society faces its most important challenges.

The plenary speakers are Prof. Roland Glowinski (University of Houston),
Prof. Luca Lambertini (Università di Bologna) and Prof. Stefan Pickl
(Universität der Bundeswehr München).

The program containts almost 90 contributed talks in the fields of
Multiobjective optimization, Optimization with uncertainties, Optimal
control, Robust control and stabilisation, Numerical methods in
optimization,  Applications in enviromental sciences, economics and
management, Optimal PDE control,  Model-predictive control, Stochastic
optimization, Differential games and Adaptive control.

Registration:

Deadline for early registration fee of 500 EUR: 16 March 2009.
After March 16, the fee is 550 EUR. The fee for students is 350 EUR.

The registration fee includes admission to all the sessions during the three
days, workshop preprint in CD, book of abstracts, lunches, coffees,
get-together party and workshop dinner. Students are entitled to workshop
dinner on extra fee.
