CORMSIS Research Facilitator
University of Southampton - School of Mathematics

£27,319 - £33,600 per annum

CORMSIS (Centre for Operational Research, Management Sciences and
Information Systems)  is one of the largest OR/MS/IS groups in the UK,
spanning the Schools of Mathematics and Management of the University
of Southampton. It covers the whole spectrum of current OR/MS/IS
activity from theoretical mathematical developments to problem
structuring and knowledge management. CORMSIS is offering a post that
combines the roles of a Research Facilitator and a Research Fellow.

The Facilitator will support the Director of CORMSIS in driving
forward the research success of the Centre by: identifying and
creating research bid opportunities; supporting research related
activities, e.g. the preparation and management of research funding
bids; tracking the impact of CORMSIS research and promoting its
success; and providing general administrative support.

For the research element of the post, the successful candidate will be
expected to conduct high-quality independent research. Some current

A research degree  and experience of undertaking research in OR/MS
will be essential, and the successful candidate will be proactive with
a high level of initiative.  Excellent communication and
organisational skills will also be required.
