To build on our education and research success to date, Mathematical
Sciences is seeking to consolidate and develop its research strength
in the area of Operational Research.  Applications are invited for the
post of Lecturer in Operational Research.

You should have a research background in any area of Operational
Research.  You should either have a PhD, or have submitted your PhD
thesis, and should be able to demonstrate a high-quality research
track record with plans for future research activity.  Teaching duties
may involve a variety of Operational Research-related topics, to be
delivered to both an undergraduate (BSc/MMath) audience and to
postgraduate students.

Duties, as determined by the Head of Mathematical Sciences, will
include:  conducting research at a national level in Operational
Research; applying for externally funded research grants; and teaching
undergraduate and postgraduate students including the supervision of
research students.  As part of the role, you will also be expected to
support the effective management and administration within the
Mathematical Sciences.  Experience of teaching, assessme nt of
students and dissertation project supervision would be advantageous.

The position is available from 1 September 2015. Interviews are
expected to be held in May or June 2015.  As part of the interview
process, you will be invited to give a research presentation.
