Deadline extension - Call for abstracts

Due to multiple requests we extend the deadline for abstract submission to November 15th.

Accelerated Computing in Discrete Optimization

Workshop organized by the Department of Optimization at SINTEF ICT

Holmenkollen Park Hotel, Oslo, Norway January 28th & 29th, 2016

Modern commodity computers are inherently heterogeneous. They contain a multi-core processor and accelerators like the graphics card or the Xeon Phi. Accelerators can nowadays easily be used for general purpose programming, and thus they have the potential to speed up discrete optimization methods.

The goal of this workshop is to discuss recent research on optimization methods that utilize accelerators, and to create ideas for future research. An example would be adapting a well-known, successful algorithm to the GPU or the Xeon Phi. Of particular interest is the combined usage of the multi-core CPU and one or more accelerators to fully utilize the computational power available in modern PCs.

To participate, please submit an extended abstract of at most two pages.
