[Opt-Net] PhD/project position at TU Chemnitz in Discrete and Algorithmic Mathematics

At the Department of Mathematics of Technische Universitaet Chemnitz
a position is available (subject to pending official approval)
in the Algorithmic and Discrete Mathematics group for the project

   "Mixed Integer and Semidefinite Power Flow Optimization"

within the joint BMBF-project "Consistent Optimization aNd
Stabilization of Electrical NetworkS" (CONSENS)
starting on 01.01.2018 or later at the level

Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter/Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin
(100%, Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L)

until 31.12.2020. The position is subject to the usual
regulations according to Saxonian law.

Applicants should have completed their studies at least at master
level in a program with strong mathematical background in convex
and discrete optimization.

The project focuses on the scientific development, investigation
and algorithmic implementation of large scale semidefinite
optimization methods for power flow models. The topic is intended
for advancing the scientific qualification of the applicant towards
a PhD or beyond.
