[Opt-Net] PhD and Postdoc Positions in Algorithmic Economics at TU Berlin

A PhD and a postdoc position are available in the research group of Prof. Markus Brill (www.algo.tu-berlin.de<http://www.algo.tu-berlin.de>) at TU Berlin in Germany.

The PhD position is for 3 years with the possibility of extension. The successful applicant will work within the DFG funded Emmy Noether project "Foundations of Interactive Democracy" (www.algo.tu-berlin.de/fid<http://www.algo.tu-berlin.de/fid>). The project has sufficient travel money available to support conference and workshop attendance as well as research visits to other groups internationally. There are no teaching obligations.

The postdoc position is for 2 years with the possibility of extension. Postdocs are free to pursue their own research within the scope of the group. There is sufficient travel money available to support conference and workshop attendance. The postdoc position comes with a moderate teaching load of 4 hours per week (during term).

The main research themes of the group are computational social choice and algorithmic game theory. Therefore, applicants must have a strong background in discrete mathematics and algorithms. Research experience in algorithmic economics is beneficial. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

The starting date is negotiable; we are interested in filling the positions as soon as possible. The positions are full-time and paid according to salary grade 100% TV-L E 13 (the standard rate for junior scientific staff at German universities; salary depends on experience and amounts to at least 2200 Euro net per month).
